Interoperability

SigmaCare^® integrates with long term care pharmacies, lab vendors, radiology vendors, billing vendors, Regional Health Information Organizations (RHIO) and Health Information Exchanges (HIE) to improve operations and communication within long term care facilities and among vendors and providers.

Pharmacies

SigmaCare is the industry's leader in the number of pharmacy transactions. As an indication of our success and experience with pharmacy interfaces, SigmaCare processes hundreds of thousands of pharmacy transactions per week. Through the bi-directional interface, SigmaCare sends order information, including eRefills, directly to the pharmacy dispensing system. SigmaCare then receives dispensed medication information back from the pharmacy which automatically updates the eMAR. This plays a significant role in eliminating the need for the facility to manually perform costly month end MAR reconciliations. In addition with our upfront formulary notifications, calls from the pharmacy are eliminated as providers are notified of non-covered medications prior to be being sent to the pharmacy which can be a time consuming process to resolve.

Lab & Radiology Providers

SigmaCare is the first in the industry to integrate with radiology vendors. There is no waiting for the delivery of lab and radiology reports; the results are posted directly to the resident's chart. Dashboard alerts notify management and clinical staff of lab results that are Panic Abnormal and Abnormal. In addition, the dashboard notifies staff of results that require physician sign-off in accordance with facility policies. Clinical staff also has the ability to add comments and notations and send results to other users.

Billing Systems

SigmaCare electronically interfaces with major billing vendors that provide accounts receivable, trust fund and general ledger functionality. Through the integration, SigmaCare transmits admissions data, including demographics, room/bed assignment, contacts, insurance, diagnoses codes, allergies and clinical monitoring data to the billing system and the billing system transmits admissions data including demographics, facility/physician/room assignment, contacts, insurance and diagnoses codes to SigmaCare.

RHIOs & HIEs

SigmaCare integrates with Regional Health Information Organizations (RHIOs) and Health Information Exchanges (HIEs) by exchanging ADT information, medications and resident clinical data for participating customers. SigmaCare will integrate with additional RHIOs and HIEs as providers look to improve operations and communications among their healthcare partners and vendors.
